Radiant. The LG G7 ThinQ is the successor to the G6, one of 2017’s first smartphones with a 2:1 display, frequently referred to as an 18:9 aspect ratio. Notably, LG has followed one of 2018’s smartphone trends in designing the G7 ThinQ with a notch. The display is more than its notch though, with the G7 ThinQ being the first smartphone with an mLC display, which can get extremely bright. LG has improved the camera too and iteratively updated the hardware to Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC. Find out in this review why the G7 ThinQ falls slightly short of the top-tier of current smartphones.
Update: Cameras reviewed and final rating published.
80% LG G7 ThinQ review: impressive audio and screen credentials elevate this AI-packed Android phone
Source: T3 English
The LG G7 ThinQ is a quality Android phone that excels in a few areas. The phone sports one of the brightest screens I've seen, for example, and its audio playback credentials are top, top tier. The internal hardware is fast and flagship competitive if not market leading, and its understated design is stylish, too, sitting somewhere between last year's offering and an iPhone X. Its battery capacity (only 3,000 mAh) is definitely less than ideal, though, and it lacks some of the standout, bar-pushing features of rival flagships.

LG G7 ThinQ camera review: LG’s artificial intelligence camera
Source: DxOMark English
In good conditions, the LG G7 ThinQ is capable of capturing nice images and video with pleasant color and good exposure. However, overall image quality is not quite up at the same level as the best in class. Dynamic range is a little more limited than we would expect from a high-end device, and image detail is only average, especially in lower light scenes. We also found the autofocus system to be a touch slower to react than for some direct rivals.

The LG G7 ThinQ is a completely unsurprising, risk-averse smartphone that's meant to be smart, not flashy, unlike the LG V40 that just launched. It has an AI-powered camera, loud 'Boombox' speaker, and a bright 6.1-inch display. It's a reasonable, but not monumental upgrade over the LG G6.

The LG G7 Review: A Rushed Attempt?
Source: AnandTech English
For me the G7 just feels like a phone that has been rushed out and the designers just didn’t get to polish the details out. The two biggest concerns, display calibration and camera calibration, are both fixable by software. But as we’ve seen in the past, the chances of vendors addressing such issues after the fact are slim and are more of an exception to the norm. For now, I don’t see the G7 as a competitive offering versus a similarly priced OnePlus 6, or a superior product, the Galaxy S9(+).

Yet, the LG G7 its like no other. Beautiful, it is also one of the smallest handset with a Snapdragon 845, a MIL-STD-810G certification, a 1000-NIT display and the best loudspeaker on the market. LG has managed to build this into one of the thinnest and lightest (162g) chassis in this category.

LG G7 ThinQ Camera Review: Not smart enough yet
Source: Mobile Syrup English
LG produced a solid shooter in the G7, except it didn’t innovate in a significant way. The AI Cam isn’t as effective as advertised. Not bolstering the hardware inside was also ill-advised, especially when smarter software works better if it isn’t doing all the heavy lifting. What you end up with is a phone that shoots closer to its predecessors than to its rivals.

The LG G7 ThinQ is a pretty difficult smartphone to judge. It’s almost forgettable in terms of design but has a lot of features to make it almost worth the $750 price tag. Overall the G7 ThinQ is a quietly confident phone. Awful name aside, it's nowhere near as in-your-face about its unique features as the latest from Sony or Samsung are, but it has a lot of strengths. And that leaves us with the question of who should buy a G7 today. This is not really a phone for enthusiasts. At $750 US, this is not a phone that you should pay full retail price for. Here's the thing about the LG G7 ThinQ: despite the silly name, it is a phone worth owning. It is worth owning for the awesome wide-angle camera, for the large and bright display, for the fast Snapdragon 845 chip, and for the extra-loud Boombox speaker. After a few weeks with the G7 ThinQ, it has proved a confusing phone. The design is not special by any degree, but its weight made it great to use. The processor setup is similar to a few phones out there, but it's scored the best while benchmarking. Should you buy the G7? I wouldn’t recommend it. With so many other good options on the market, plus plenty more phones on the horizon, investing in the G7 doesn’t sound very appealing. You’ll be living with a subpar Android skin, battery life that seems all over the place, as well as the possibility that your phone may not see great software update support. I happen to like the LG G7 ThinQ quite a bit. The simple design, the display, the response time, and the speed are important features for me. Eventually, I can see myself using the boombox, but the deal breaker for me though is the camera. I take a lot of photos, and while the AI camera has the capability to take great shots, how the G7 handles low light natively is a problem. There are other phones on the market that tackle this problem with minimal effort. While there may not be a fix for that, what LG has going for it is a promised expandability via software updates. In just using it the last few weeks I have noticed the speed in which LG addresses problems in the device. Something I have not experienced before with other smartphones. LG may be on to something.

While some of its decisions this year seem more trend-following (like the notch), the features where LG tries to be different are what people will really appreciate. The wide-angle camera is great but we will have to wait and see if Boombox Sound ends up on the list, as well.

80% LG G7 Plus ThinQ Review: A Feature-Packed Alternative To The Oneplus 6
Source: Tech2.in.com English
The LG G7+ ThinQ may be the best smartphone at the lower end of the premium segment in India. But it also packs in more features than the OnePlus 6 currently offers like the QHD+, HDR 10-enabled display, a wide angle camera, Boombox speaker and even an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. But will you buy one?

80% LG G7+ ThinQ review: At Rs 39,990, a surprisingly good flagship phone
Source: The Indian Express English
LG G7+ ThinQ is a definitely a flagship which gets one to think. The kind of features the phone packs would normally result in a higher pricing. There are lots of positives in terms of design, the display, performance, as well camera and audio quality and that it comes with water and dust-resistant is also a plus.

Source: India Today English
The answer in my opinion is yes. The LG G7+ ThinQ features an alluring design and it is comfortable to use. The phone packs some of the top hardware available in the market in a relatively affordable price of under Rs 40K. And its splendid camera quality and powerful audio output is just the icing on top of a cake.

90% LG G7+ ThinQ Review
Source: NDTV Gadgets English
The G7+ ThinQ is a solid offering from LG, and more importantly, it’s available at a very aggressive price. For all those who were on the fence about the OnePlus 6 due to its lack of some features such as weather resistance and wireless charging, the G7+ ThinQ is a very good alternative. LG’s offering also features a more useful secondary rear camera, expandable storage, an excellent mono speaker, and a vivid and crisp display.

Source: Gadget Show English
LG this year may have managed to turn some heads towards its G7+ ThinQ as the smartphone’s spec-is-to-price-ratio will give some food for thought to users as well as to competition. Although the company might not be marketing its new smartphone as much as others, it surely has the ability to silently stir the market with this offering.

The LG G7+ThinQ brings HDR video, audiophile-grade hardware, IP68 rating and a body designed to withstand damage from being dropped. You get all this for a very reasonable price, and while it looks to be a very lucrative proposition, it isn’t a perfect smartphone.

LG G7+ ThinQ Hands-on [Images]
Source: Mobygyaan English
The South Korean tech giant, LG recently launched the G7+ ThinQ in India and it’s the flagship smartphone from the company which is likely competing the Samsung Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6, Sony Xperia XZ2 and others. In the past couple of years, LG has been left out in the cold, but now it’s back in the game with its unique features. In this flagship war where Samsung, ASUS, HUAWEI, and even Vivo have managed to show great phones, LG is on the list too.

75% LG G7+ ThinQ review: A solid but uninspired effort
Source: Hardware Zone English
The G7+ is a reasonably good, but unexciting and risk-averse smartphone. It feels almost like LG has been burned one too many times trying out-of-the-box, experimental ideas, and now it's gone completely the other way and is trying to play it as safe as possible. Everything from the typical aluminum and glass design, to the notched display, and even the Boombox speaker and AI camera features are things we've seen before in other phones.

Those who have tried, or have got, the LG G7 ThinQ will notice the phones are practically the same, except for a few under-the-hood reductions. But this is all about Android One and the clean-cut OS shines on this handset.

LG launched a new color version of the premium LG G7 ThinQ called Raspberry Rose. It has a glossy finish on its glass back, same as the old colors (so no frosted glass here). Note that this version is available only on some carriers.

Hands on: LG G7 Fit review
Source: Techradar English
The LG G7 Fit is fit and it knows it. It’s a touch above the slew of mid-range handsets out at the moment and comes with a number of features that can be found on the premium LG G7 ThinQ, all in a package that’s a little more budget friendly. We’re not sure this budget/premium hybrid will quite work for all but the corners that have been cut aren’t too noticeable. Oh, and we still don’t get why it’s called Fit.
