LG G5 Lite hits TENAA

LG G5 Lite Android smartphone shows up at TENAA
LG G5 Lite
Although this version keeps the screen size and resolution of the G5 flagship, it uses a Snapdragon 652 processor and has 3 GB of memory.

LG H848 is also referred to as LG G5 Lite, but this handset has no official name yet. However, its specs are well known and even a few images are available online, since this upcoming handset has just been spotted at TENAA. This appears to be a cheaper LG G5 variant for the Chinese market that has very similar specs to the flagship itself.

The so-called LG G5 Lite has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with Adreno 510 graphics, but keeps the 5.3-inch QHD display of its more powerful sibling. The amount of memory has been reduced to 3 GB, but the other specs remain unchanged - a modular design that allows the use of "friends" attachments, 32 GB internal storage, 16 MP+8 MP dual main camera setup, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Unfortunately, there is no information on pricing and availability yet. Given the fact that LG G5 Lite features reasonable compromises, it might hit additional markets as well. We will get back to it as soon as it launches in China - that should happen by the end of April after all.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
