It’s not often that a notebook pops up at a 3rd party retailer before it's even officially announced, but Samsung’s Series 3 notebooks sure seem to be going down that road. Prior to today, all that had surfaced about Samsung’s latest lineup was a cameo at a New York event last month, but one configuration seems to have made its way to the online pre-order world.
According to a listing at J&R, the Series 3 notebooks feature a 12.1” display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and a weight of around 3lbs. The pre-order model listed is the NP350U2B-A01US, which comes with a Core i5-2410M processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel HD 3000 Graphics, and a 5400RPM 500GB HDD.
While the Series 3 notebooks were sporting non-user replaceable batteries when they were spotted in New York, the current listing makes no mention of that fact. In addition, the only model up for pre-order is the black Core i5 version and none of the previously mentioned configurations are in sight.
Though the information on hand may be a bit paltry, that’s what we’re unfortunately stuck with until Samsung decides to go official with their newest notebooks. We’re hoping that won’t be too long, but till then the $750 pre-order price is slightly tempting and hopefully there’s more good news on the horizon.
