While the Samsung Series 9 models are aimed at the high-end spectrum, budget notebook buyers can now look forward to the more wallet-friendly Samsung Series 3 lineup of notebooks.
According to Engadget, a 12.1-inch Series 3 laptop was unexpectedly seen at the Digital Experience tradeshow in New York yesterday. The model will reportedly be just one out of many in the Series 3 lineup, which will include a range of screen sizes sporting an even wider range of processors like the AMD Fusion APUs up to a Core i7 CPU.
As for the chassis, the Series 3 will attempt to replicate some features of the Series 9, including the “brushed metal” look with less overt plastics. Samsung may be attempting to bring some of that high class feel to the budget Series 3 lineup.
Samsung has yet to officially announce the Series 3 lineup, however, so prices and release dates are still mysteries. Engadget is expecting a rough price range of $599 up to $819 depending on the models and features.
