Deal | Intel Core i5-12600KF available for an attractive $154.99 on Amazon thanks to misleading 50% discount
Although it launched alongside the more popular Intel Core i5-12600K, the Intel Core i5-12600KF comes without an integrated graphics solution. An unlocked chip like its sibling, it also retails without a bundled cooler. Introduced for $15 less than the 12600K ($274 vs. $299), this desktop processor that celebrated its second anniversary last month is now down by 50% on Amazon and can be acquired for $154.99. While the price is attractive, the generous discount is misleading.
According to the popular Amazon price tracking platform Camelcamelcamel, the Intel Core i5-12600KF peaked at $311.25 in early December 2021. In 2023, it never went above $260. Since March, it was always available for less than $230. Last month, it dropped to the all-time low price of $140. The $198.37 average price reported by the price tracker mentioned above is far from the list price of $311.25, so this half-price deal is actually a 22% discount.
Despite its age, the Intel Core i5-12600KF scored over 4,000 sales on Amazon in the past month, while the 12600K managed more than 7,000. After 757 validated user reviews, the Intel Core i5-12600KF holds an excellent 4.9/5 general rating, with 91% perfect scores and 7% 4/5 votes.
Those looking to build an affordable desktop PC can also grab the Intel Core i5-12600KF bundled with the Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition 8GB PCIe 4.0 graphics card, both for $334.98 (a mere 10% discount).
