Indie roguelike game tops Steam charts with over 574,000 players, 94% positive reviews

Slay the Spire 2 is a roguelike deck-builder game launched by Mega Crit, an indie game studio who also developed its well-received predecessor. The game costs $25 on Steam, and is still in early access.
As we have reported previously, the highly-anticipated game was an instant hit, crossing the 175,000-players mark just a few hours after being launched earlier this month. As can be inferred from the following chart, its popularity continued rising, crossing the 500,000-player mark just two days after launch.

Right now, the Slay the Spire 2 has gathered a whopping 41,000 reviews, over 94% of which are positive, thereby granting the game the coveted "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating on Steam. Already ranking at the top of Steam wishlist charts, the game has also won itself the fourth position in Steam's top sellers list.
Being an early access title, bugs and other issues are definitely expected to hamper the gameplay experience. Clearly, Slay the Spire 2 has managed to minimize such issues, judging by the vast majority of extremely positive reviews. The game was originally intended to launch last year after being announced in 2024, but its developers decided to take their sweet time to polish the experience, which appears to be finally paying dividends.
Slay the Spire 2 does not feature any micro-transactions or season passes, which is what we have come to expect from Mega Crit and their public hatred of such systems.
The system requirements are also pretty minimal, requiring only a dual-core CPU, 4 GB RAM, and basic GPUs with at least 1 GB of VRAM. The game is also supported on macOS, and is perfectly playable on the Steam Deck.
