Huawei rumoured to have substantial launch event planned with MateBook X Pro and Watch 4 releases
According to leaker Uncle Mountain, Huawei has scheduled another launch event this month, with one on May 9 already confirmed. Seemingly, while the latter will apply globally for devices already announced in China, the former will showcase new products. Writing on Weibo, Uncle Mountain claims that Huawei's China-centric event will occur on May 17, with particular attention paid to the Watch 4 series in its various guises.
So far, certification documents suggest that Huawei will launch three Watch 4 series models, including at least one with an LTE modem. Other features like NFC connectivity, a GPS module and Wi-Fi 4 connectivity will return, although it is unclear how Huawei will distinguish the Watch 4 series from its predecessors. The design of Huawei's next-generation smartwatches has not leaked yet either, despite their apparent impending release.
Additionally, Huawei is tipped to introduce the MateBook X Pro 2023, likely with an Intel Raptor Lake refresh. Likewise, the MateBook E is expected to receive an upgrade. Currently, Huawei offers the 2-in-1 with Intel Tiger Lake processors, which leaves plenty of room for refinements ahead of Microsoft's rumoured Surface Pro 10 series. Moreover, a MatePad Air is anticipated. Details about the MatePad Air are thin on the ground for now, but recent certification documents imply that Huawei has equipped it with a modest 8,200 mAh battery, along with an LTE modem for mobile connectivity.
