Huawei P9 Android smartphone to launch in early April

Although the company scheduled a press event on March 9, Evan Blass claims this handset will come out about one month later.

Huawei's upcoming flagship device has been in the rumor mill for a while and, if some of the more recent rumors turn out to be true, it might show up at the company's press event scheduled later this week. However, notorious leakster Evan Blass has just revealed that Huawei P9 could show up almost one month after the event that will take place in Berlin this Wednesday.

One day later after its message that says this handset comes out "Wednesday, April 6th" and nothing more, Evan Blass came back with an update. Today, he admitted that he "may have done the calculation wrong" and the launch date could be April 5th. Nevertheless, it is clear that Huawei P9 launches in early April. As long as these rumors turn out to be true, of course.

The specs of the Huawei P9 mentioned by previous rumors include a 5.2-inch full HD display, the octa-core Kirin 950 processor with Mali-T880 graphics, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, all fed by a generous 3900 mAh battery. This flagship is expected to come out with a few siblings, including a Lite, Max, and an "enhanced edition." We will probably hear more about it at this week's press event, so stay tuned.
