While the Huawei Watch still has to launch, the company unveils the first images of a new smart wearable, although technical details are not available yet.
Codrut Nistor,

Huawei unveiled their first smartwatch during MWC 2015, but the wearable with a circular AMOLED display and stainless steel body still has to reach the global market for the time being. Huawei Watch is also the first Android Wear device to feature a sapphire crystal display. Yesterday, Huawei also revealed a new wearable, although its specs and features remain secret.

The Twitter message posted by Huawei Device only contains an image and the following message: "#Honor's smart wearable device that embodies a minamalistic design, that's #HonorBandZero. #HuaweiFacts" The rendering reveals the following, although nothing is official yet:

  • Huawei Honor Band Zero has a thin design with no physical buttons visible, although controls may be placed along the side facing down
  • The band of this wearable will be a standard rubber one, with a texture on it

Given the minimalistic design, it is possible that Honor Band Zero will also have limited features, but probably extended battery life. We will surely hear more about it soon, so stay tuned.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
