Reviews for the Honor 8A
Big display with a waterdrop notch, sleek design, efficient processor, and a light-sensitive camera are the Honor 8A's pros according to the manufacturer. Considering the device's low price this sounds almost too good to be true, or does it?

Honor has a lot of great options out there that cover all three categories of smartphones, from budget and mid-range to flagship. The Honor 8A falls in the mid-range category, but it still features a great display and design. The widely acclaimed high-volume speakers of the Honor 8A's predecessors have yet again received an upgrade. The big sound cavity with a dual-suspension structure is combined with the new high-power SmartPA speaker, a 30% improvement compared to the previous generation's speakers. This dual-SIM smartphone is a tribute to the classic dual-texture smartphone body design and their multilayered smooth surfaces. It is also available in four stylish and trendy color options, namely Black, Gold, Red and Blue, that are guaranteed to provide aesthetics that are pleasing to the eyes. The front camera, the light sensor, the proximity sensor and receiver are well integrated in the merely 3.2 mm thin edge at the top of the screen. The dewdrop notch design reduces the area by 71.1% compared with traditional notches in other smartphones. The Face Unlock feature is effective, functional even in the dark and identifies 1.024 distinctive facial features with precise accuracy. Furthermore, the Finger Gesture commands are designed to make single-handed operation a simple matter on this FullView Display mobile.
The rear 13MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture of the Honor 8A lets in more light for crisp and clear night-time photos and an accurate background bokeh. At the same time, its 8MP front camera provides intelligent beautification to selfies. Not only is the Honor 8A the best for shooting night photography, but the dual SIM Slot and Micro-SD slot design support dual VoLTE HD calls, while the two SIM cards and microSD card can work simultaneously. As for the display, it comes with a 6.09-inch flagship-level dewdrop notch screen which reaches a 87% screen-to-body ratio through an ultra-narrow border that graces three of its edges. Having passed the TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certification, the screen reduces emissions of blue light, which means less harm to the eyes, especially for heavy users who experience long periods of exposure to the phone. To deliver performance, the MT6765 high-frequency 8-core processor, clocked at up to 2.3 GHz, delivers strong functionality, while its 12mm flagship-level processing provides the ultimate power-saving performance. The processor is paired with a 32GB ROM and 2GB RAM. As for the operating system, the device is equipped with the optimized EMUI 9.0 operating system that is based on the latest Android 9. The built-in 3,020mAh battery of the Honor 8A works with a 12nm power-efficient processor and the leading technology of EMUI’s intelligent power-saving capabilities to easily provide a full day’s use. In conclusion, the Honor 8A is a great option for users who are on a budget. With exceptional sound and a good display, the Honor 8A will make a great entertainment device.
