HP ZBook 15 G6 and ZBook 17 G6 coming with "world's first" 100 percent DCI-P3 display and Quadro RTX 5000 graphics
HP will be launching the 15.6-inch ZBook 15 G6 and 17.3-inch ZBook 17 G6 mobile workstations to replace last year's ZBook 15 G5 and ZBook 17 G5, respectively. The announcement comes concurrently with Nvidia's reveal of the mobile RTX Quadro series at Computex 2019 in addition to the 2019 Envy refresh.
HP is promising support for up to the Quadro RTX 5000 GPU on the ZBook 17 G6 and even a 100 percent DCI-P3 display option for this screen size only. In comparison, most laptops barely cover the sRGB or AdobeRGB standard. Both the ZBook 15 G6 and ZBook 17 G6 will have Intel 9th gen Core i9 options with "full, unthrottled performance" according to the manufacturer up from Intel 8th gen on last year's SKUs.
Outside of the internal changes above, the G6 models will carry the same chassis designs as their G5 predecessors with very likely the same keyboard, trackpad, and upgrade options.
Both the ZBook 15 G6 and ZBook 17 G6 will launch this July. Prices and additional details will be revealed closer to launch. HP's ZBook series competes directly with the Lenovo ThinkPad P series, Eurocom W series, and the Dell Precision series.
