A Blaze of Colors. This 17-inch HP workstation has some interesting components: the DreamColor display being the most interesting of all. First-class values paired with great color space coverage - a rare combination. We extensively tested the laptop to see if the other hardware components met high standards set by the display.

In the end I am impressed with the strength and quality of the of this laptop. It is put together with some top quality parts. My main concern is the shear size a weight of this machine. A 17″ laptop is not a good travel size and should not be taken on the road, but with just over 5 hours of battery it is going to last long time if you do decide to take it on the go.

The HP EliteBook 8770w is a great workstation for those looking for productivity and durability. The sturdy well-built design ensures that the notebook will hold up, while the beautiful display, comfortable keyboard, and touchpad make using the device a joy to use. Additionally, its solid CPU and GPU allow the machine to tackle almost any program or function with consistent performance; and its cornucopia of ports allows the workstation to connect to a wide array of devices simultaneously. Users who travel regularly may be better served with a notebook that offers better battery life and a portable design, and power users who are looking for top-notch performance may want to opt for a desktop. However, users who need a bit of portability with consistent levels of performance and connectivity will find what they need from the HP EliteBook 8770w.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
