Reviews for the HP EliteBook 840 G5-3WD97UT

95% HP EliteBook 840 G5 review: It's my new favorite laptop
Source: Neowin English Archive.org version
I really love the HP EliteBook 840 G5. Many of the Always Connected PCs that we're seeing pushed aren't very powerful, or they're not in conventional form factors. Even the Intel-powered Surface Pro isn't my cup of tea, as it's tough to use without a desk making it impossible to use at events.

HP EliteBook 840 And 830 G5 Review: Aluminum-Clad Powerhouses
Source: Hot Hardware English Archive.org version
With last year's Elitebook G4 being more or less a refresh of the previous generation, HP set out to make a bold statement with its 5th gen devices. What inspired these bold new designs was the need to appeal to a more tech-savvy audience that cares about aesthetics and design, as well as performance. Let's face it, the younger you are the more you grew up surrounded by technology; young professionals are more tech savvy than ever before. Today's modern business user wants substance, security, portability, connectivity, and of course, style. On all of these fronts the EliteBook G5 series delivers.

90% HP EliteBook 840 G5 Review Editor's Choice

If your main priority is battery life, go for the ThinkPad X1 Carbon (starting at $1,519), which lasts a couple of hours longer on a charge and has a stunning (but pricey) optional HDR display. But overall, the EliteBook 840 provides everything you could want from a well-rounded business notebook.

14.00":

Above all, this display size is used for subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles. For all three types, this size is quite large. The biggest variety of subnotebooks is represented with this size.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

1.48 kg:

In former time,s this weight was typical for big tablets, small subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 10-11 inch display-diagonal. Nowadays, often 15 inch laptops weigh as much.
