According to Phonearena, Google has confirmed that some Pixel 7 series features are coming to older Pixel smartphones. Unsurprisingly, not all will be available for the likes of the Pixel 6 Pro. Supposedly, the Google Tensor G2 in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro is required for the likes of Zoom Fusion technology though, camera examples of which Google has already provided.
Still, Phonearena asserts that Clear Calling is on the list, as is Guided Frame. For reference, Google has designed Clear Calling to minimise background noise. Similarly, Google has expanded its quick phrase functionality to end an incoming call by saying 'silence'. Meanwhile, Guided Frame is a new accessibility feature designed to help those who are blind or have low vision take selfies.
Additionally, Google's Real Tone improvements will not be a Pixel 7 series exclusive feature, either. Likewise, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will soon support Spatial Audio when connected to the Pixel Buds Pro. Better still, Google plans to introduce its improved At-a-Glance widget and its Audio Message Transcription feature to pre-Tensor models, starting with the Pixel 4a.
Currently, Google expects to roll all these features out via a December 2022 Feature Drop. In testing as Android 13 QPR1, the Feature Drop will not contain the Pixel 6 Pro's long-awaited facial recognition. Instead, Phonearena reports that Google said it had nothing to share at this point' when asked if it had any plans to bring the Pixel 7 series feature to the Pixel 6 Pro, with which it now shares its 10.8 MP front-facing camera.
