Gionee S6 smartphone to come with USB Type-C for 250 Euros
The Gionee S6 is quite the attractive smartphone considering its relatively low price. The device can be seen as a sister model to the recently launched Elife S Plus as they have similar core features. Specifications include:
- 5.5-inch AMOLED display
- 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
- 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6753 SoC
- 3 GB RAM
- 32 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD up to 128 GB
- 13 MP rear w/ LED Flash + 5 MP front cameras
- Dual SIM (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM)
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
- 3.5 mm audio, USB 2.0 Type-C
- Android 5.1 Lollipop w/ Amigo 3.1 OS
- 152 x 74.7 x 6.9 mm
- 147 grams
The device will go on sale beginning November 23rd for 1700 Yuan in China or the equivalent of 250 Euros. Like the OnePlus 2, the USB Type-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds only and is not a "true" USB 3.0 Type-C port. The MT6753 SoC was revealed earlier this year as a low mid-range SoC with integrated Mali-T740 MP4 graphics. While not strong enough to smoothly power a 1080p display, it should be sufficient for a sub-FHD panel like the one of the Gionee S6.
