Dedicated gaming rigs from Alienware to Sager are now getting the Windows 10 treatment.

The push for Windows 10 is very real with most every manufacturer jumping on board. This is compared to the public backlash of Windows 8 just a few years back when major manufacturers were offering downgrades to Windows 7 as a promotional tool.

Now, both Gigabyte and Xotic PC have announced that their respective systems will ship with Windows 10 pre-loaded and that existing owners can upgrade for free. This follows on the footsteps of HP, Lenovo, and Toshiba, all of whom have announced similar upgrade plans for new and existing owners.

Unfortunately, the announcement does not detail any gaming benefits that the upgrade could bring for Windows 7 or 8.1 users. This is disappointing considering that both Gigabyte and Xotic PC offer very high-end systems and hardware. Potential frame rate gains of just a few percentage points could be enough to persuade owners and buyers to make the jump to Windows 10 even faster. This is data we may have to gather ourselves to see if Microsoft's new OS can be a boon to gaming before proper DirectX 12 titles hit the market.

"It [Windows 10] represents the most gamer-friendly Windows version we’ve seen to date,” says Xotic PC CEO Justin Nolte in the official press release.

Gigabyte specializes in ultrathin gaming notebooks and also spearheads the eccentric Aorus brand. Xotic PC is a US-based reseller of major brands including Gigabyte, MSI, Sager, Samsung, Alienware, and many more.
