Doogee reveals Homtom HT6 smartphone with high capacity battery
Chinese manufacturer Doogee has announced the Homtom HT6 smartphone with the following specifications:
- CPU: MediaTek MT6735 SoC
- Display: 5.5-inch 720p
- Storage: 16 GB eMMC
- Cameras: Rear 13 MP Sony with Dual Flash, Front 5 MP
- Thickness: 9.9 mm
- Battery: 6250mAh
Other core specifications include a metal back cover, 4G support, Android 5.1 Lollipop, and MediaTek Pump Express Plus fast-charging. This will allow the phone to charge up to 75 percent in under 30 minutes via a 5 V, 3A adapter. Its 6250 mAh battery is also quite dense for a smartphone where 3000 to 4000 mAh capacities are more common. In fact, the name "Homtom" comes from the Chinese characters "Heng tong", which means "lasting and eternal connection".
Unfortunately, we have no news on the RAM, launch price, or even battery life for the Homtom HT6. It is, however, expected to launch this September.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
