Garmin rolls out new software update for popular smartwatch lineup

Garmin has rolled out a new software update for its smartwatches, bringing firmware version 15.12 to the Instinct 3 series (on Amazon), including the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct E, Instinct 3 Tactical, and Instinct Crossover AMOLED. The update applies to all size variants and is currently in beta, with only about 20 percent of eligible users being offered the update so far.
The changelog is brief and includes model-specific changes, but all Instinct 3 and Instinct E watches will benefit from improved gear recommendations for hiking activities and a fix for potential treadmill distance calibration issues.
On AMOLED models, Garmin has also resolved a language-specific display bug affecting sleep data in the Morning Report. For Instinct Tactical models, the update adds support for a Xero distance sensor. Meanwhile, the DogTrack Glance should now work properly on the Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E, alongside a fix for a data-field display issue that previously affected certain languages.
