Garmin releases new wearable update with more features and improvements

Garmin CIRQA Smart Band Software Version 4.20 has arrived for users of the screenless fitness tracker. It follows on from the software version 3.20 release, which arrived in early September 2026.
With the version 4.20 update, users of the Garmin CIRQA gain Run/Walk detection for the device's Trail Run activity. You can calibrate the distance for Treadmill Run, Indoor Rowing and Indoor Cycling activities before saving to the device. Plus, Heart Rate is now displayed on a Live Activity before you start recording in the app.
Another improvement for the Garmin CIRQA Smart Band with this update is blocking stress alerts when Auto Activity Detection is in progress. Users also get the ability to set the wearable to vibrate for incoming calls and smart notifications. The release notes for software version 4.20 list fixes for bugs such as missing bedtime approaching notifications and the inability to edit reps mid-workout. On top of this, Mobile Translations have been upgraded to version 1.60.
In a post on the Garmin Forum, a representative for the company confirmed that software version 4.20 had already been pushed to around 20% of users of the CIRQA Smart Band. Users will be able to download the update via Garmin Express or the Garmin Connect Mobile app.
