Garmin has issued yet another confusing update for one of its popular flagship smartwatches. Rolling out to its Beta Program, the update claims to resolve issues that could cause device shutdowns, among other changes.

Garmin has been rather busy lately when it comes to flighting new beta builds for its smartwatches. For instance, it has delivered multiple updates to its recent Forerunner models, including the Forerunner 165 and Forerunner 265. Also, it has now released new software to the following smartwatches:

  • Enduro 2
  • Epix 2
  • Epix 2 Pro
  • Fenix 7
  • Fenix 7 Pro
  • Marq Gen 2
  • Quatix 7

As usual, Garmin has kept all seven smartwatches on the same software distribution, which has now reached v18.12 on its Beta Program. Supposedly, the new update makes three changes, one of which is 'updated translations'. Moreover, Beta Version 18.12 is said to fix bugs that could cause device shutdowns when using Garmin Coach and after receiving a flag measurement from an Approach Z30 smart laser range finder.

Furthermore, some Beta Program participants have noticed other changes bundled with Beta Version 18.12. Specifically, the new update contains new firmware for a variety of sub-components, including GPS, NFC, Sensor Hub and Wi-Fi firmwares. Please see Garmin's forum post for further details.
