Fender is primarily known for guitars, but with the Mix over-ear headphones, the brand now wants to capture more market share in the music enthusiast segment. The manufacturer advertises premium sound, high wearing comfort and a stylish design in either light gray, turquoise, blue, pink or black. Both the ear pads and the battery can be replaced by the user in order extend the lifespan of these headphones.
The Fender Mix supposedly offer a battery life of 100 hours of music playback, while active noise cancellation (ANC) drops that runtime to a still impressive 52 hours. Another special feature is a USB-C transmitter that’s hidden under one of the ear pads. When plugged into a computer, smartphone or Nintendo Switch 2 (from $449 on Amazon), music can be transmitted at up to 24-bit at 96kHz. With a latency of less than 20 milliseconds, the dongle is intended should be particularly practical for gamers.
Alternatively, the Fender Mix can be connected via a 3.5mm AUX cable, USB-C or Bluetooth 5.3. LC3 is supported alongside AAC and SBC and Bluetooth Auracast. These headphones can be used for phone calls thanks to two integrated microphones. Fender opted for graphene drivers with a diameter of 40mm, which also support 360 degree spatial sound.
