Deal | Fast-paced action platformer becomes free game on Steam for short time

Publisher Grab The Games is offering another title as a free game on Steam. It's One Gun Guy, an action platformer that was released in 2022. The title generally goes $5 when there's no discount in place.

However, until December 18, 2025, it will be available as a free game. The core experience of the title unfolds in one giant level. It's expansive, packed with challenges, and features checkpoints for respawning.

Players get to control an armed character who only has one gun, which is where the name of the game comes from. To progress, they need to go against platformer challenges, fight enemies, and beat bosses. There are scopes to upgrade the character by giving it special perks like double jump, gliding, and magnetism.

All the upgrades require coins, which can be collected through progression, and these level-ups improve the mobility and combat capabilities of the character. There are hidden areas available in the level, some of which can lead to boss fights.

This currently free game has a heavy focus on the controls and fast-paced movements. While it may seem easy to beat first, finishing it once unlocks the hard mode, which is known for being challenging. For those who are more comfortable with controllers, the good part is that One Gun Guy has full controller support (8BitDo Ultimate 2C wired curr. $17.99 on Amazon).

Since its release on Steam, One Gun Guy has received around 40 player reviews, and 65% of them are positive.
