Compared to the rest of the Dynabook portfolio, the Portégé X30W-J-10C is one of its better-looking devices, and among the most compact. When compared with other machines, like the HP Elite Dragonfly, however, its chunkiness is a disappointment. Unfortunately, while there are no major faults to report, there’s very little that stands out beyond its fantastic battery life. The fact it’s priced at more than £1000, too, doesn’t help its cause.

In conclusion, we would like to say that this notebook’s best feature is undoubtedly its portability. With a weight of about 907 grams, it is one of the lightest 13-inch notebooks in history. It is so light, in fact, that it feels like a toy when handled. However, it is far more than that. At the end of the day, the price tag is pretty compelling, given the overall decent package you get. We really want to see Dynabook succeed in what it started (continued). And if the company picks it up from there, they can build a great self-sustained brand, that can get back be one of the top laptop brands out there. As NASA said last year – the key is in perseverance.

The Dynabook Portege X30L would make its forebears proud. Although it is not as light as expected, it does come with some features that will appeal to its target audience. It is not the cheapest nor the fastest but it does provide a decent alternative as long as you ignore the pathetic battery life.

Dynabook has created a laptop worth the attention of every lady and gentleman out there. It is really classy and absurdly light. Its magnesium chassis is the main reason for its fantastic portability – it weighs only 904 grams (according to Dynabook). Well, the Alder Lake P-series CPUs won’t perform up to the standard, but short bursts of high clocks can be expected. On the bright side, the battery life is stellar – we got 16 hours and 30 minutes of Web browsing, or 12 hours of video playback on a single charge. Dynabook Portege X30L-K’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, high maximum brightness, a very good contrast ratio, and comfortable viewing angles. It uses PWM but only up to 140 nits, and with a very high frequency, which makes the display rather comfortable for long use. Even the port selection is amazing – there are two Thunderbolt 4 connectors, two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, a MicroSD card slot, a SIM card tray, a Smart card reader, an HDMI connector, and even a LAN port! On a 13-inch business laptop! That weighs 904 grams. What?! Make yourself a favor and consider the Dynabook Portege X30L-K for your next premium business notebook. Yes, it has some downsides, but you got to go for its feature-packed hipster vibe.
