QuickOffice HD update now available with more Word and Excel editing options

Even with the TouchPad hardware discontinued, HP is still showing support for the venerable webOS.

The free QuickOffice update for TouchPad owners is now live and ready for download through the webOS App Catalog. Although the update is about a few days late, it will finally allow users to edit Microsoft Word files and Excel sheets with additional options straight from the tablet. These include changing fonts, colors, italicizing, bolding and underlining texts. PowerPoint presentations can still be edited through the QuickOffice Connect Mobile Suite.

This update, along with the recent pack of free apps, makes the $100 HP TouchPad even more functional and worthwhile. If software support continues to arrive at this pace, then the webOS platform may be livelier than it has ever been with a possibly brighter future.
