HP announces 6 free apps for TouchPad owners

Teaser
The free deal includes a mixture of games, storybooks and additional customizability options, all for a limited time

For those fortunate enough to have grabbed an HP TouchPad for $99 or $149 are about to get even luckier.

Through the official HP Palm blog, the company announced six apps free to download for all TouchPad owners in the United States. Each one of these apps would have normally cost users anywhere from $0.99 up to $14.99.

Two of the six apps are games (Big Boss and Sparkle HD) while one is a storybook (Kung Fu Panda 2) and one is a field guide to birds (Audubon Birds). The other two apps (Glimpse and Camera) will add additional multitasking customizability and photo options.

To access the free apps, users must open App Catalog on their TouchPads and then enter the promo code indicated in parenthesis for each respective app.

Additionally, HP is planning to offer six more apps for free before the end of September. The company sure is providing a lot of freebies for an operating system that was abandoned just a week ago.

Keep in mind that the current pack of free apps will expire midnight at August 31st. While the selection of free apps is probably not the best lineup, we definitely aren’t complaining.
