Dell planning on Windows 7 tablets
The Dell Streak that is currently available runs an Android OS, but Dell is planning to expand its portfolio in the tablet business by also including units that run Windows 7 as well. The company has yet to release any tablets based on the Windows 7 platform and only showed new versions of the Streak at this year’s CES. However, marketing director Kirk Schell of Dell’s Business Client group confirms that a 10-inch Windows 7 tablet is targeted for a release within this first half of the year.
Further details about the Windows tablet are currently unknown, but the tablet will be mainly geared towards enterprise use as Dell will be focusing more on business users. More information is expected in the coming weeks as Dell expands its new line of business devices.
