The Dell Vostro 14 3459 is an affordable laptop meant for small business and mobile professionals, but it's just too unpleasant to use. The notebook's dim screen, subpar battery life and uncomfortable keyboard make it a poor choice for traveling and getting work done.

You can get similar or better hardware at a lower price – that’s for sure – but the Dell Vostro 14 5471 might be a good investment thanks to the many features it has. It’s a step up from low-budget notebooks, which is easy to spot. The first thing that catches the eye is the all-metal chassis. Build quality is usually where inexpensive laptops cut cost but the Vostro 14 5471 is not the case.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you are familiar with the Vostro 5590, this laptop is obviously not that different from the other. However, the performance figures of the new Core i7-10510U inside this machine are pretty darn good. Sadly, there had to be a catch. Here, the toll is in the form of noise. The fan of this notebook sounds more like one of a gaming laptop, rather than a business ultrabook. Perhaps, this is what you get when you want a powerful laptop that is small in size too.

In 2014, the global market share of Dell laptops was 12.3% and it is 14% in 2016.Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.AMD Radeon 530: Entry class dedicated graphics card with 320 or 384 shaders (depending on the used chip) and DDR3 or GDDR5 graphics memory (both with a 64 Bit bus). Both chips are used for a few years, e.g. even starting with the Radeon 8590M (28nm GCN).With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.NVIDIA GeForce MX250: Successor of the MX150 and still based on the same Pascal GP108 chip (similar to the desktop GT 1030) but with higher clock speeds. Available in two versions, a normal 25 Watt version and a low power version with 10 Watt TDP and reduced performance. The 25 Watt version e.g. offers a 21% higher boost clock than the old MX150 leading to a 5% performance gain.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.8265U: Whiskey Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.9 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.Intel Kaby Lake Refresh: 8250U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,100 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process. 8550U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.8 and 4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,150 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process.Intel Comet Lake: i7-10510U: Comet Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 1.8 and 4.9 GHz (all 4 cores 4.3 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (8 threads). The integrated memory controller supports DDR4-2666 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default).
