The QNAP DA Drive Analyzer software has improved AI-powered drive failure prediction, outperforming traditional S.M.A.R.T. diagnostics. Trained on real-world data across multiple drive models, it helps NAS users protect critical data from data loss.

QNAP has released an improved version of DA Drive Analyzer designed to better detect drive failures using AI technology. The software was developed with ULINK and a complimentary one-drive license is available to QNAP NAS owners. Additional drives can be covered with a subscription plan starting at $5 per year per drive.

The DA Drive Analyzer leverages AI technology to detect pending drive failures that S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) alone cannot. The AI can do this because it is trained on data from actual drives across many manufacturers and models, providing insight into real-world indicators of failure.

The company says it can successfully detect pending drive failures in 83% of SATA HDDs and 78% of SATA SSDs that would normally fail within 180 days, sometimes without warning. The warnings from DA Drive Analyzer can allow users to proactively order drive replacements and double-check that their critical data is backed up properly prior to actual drive failure.

Readers can browse QNAP's selection of NAS devices on Amazon.
