Classy Samsung Galaxy Note 21 renders show off curves, zero bezel, and no punch hole, hinting at under-display fingerprint scanner and front camera
Tipster @UniverseIce shared a pair of snazzy unofficial renders for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 21 and Galaxy Note 21 Ultra. The renders highlight a lot of the key features we expect to see in 2021 Android flagship smartphone design.
We’re fans of the rose gold backplate that’s just hinted at in the renders. But more interesting are the bezels, or almost complete absence thereof. The purported Samsung Galaxy Note 21 pictured here features sub 1-mm bezels on top and on the bottom with the Galaxy range’s signature curved sides.
Both the fingerprint scanner and front camera module are absent, suggesting that Samsung will go the in-display route for both of these parts. A number of phones, including last year’s Redmi K20 Pro, shipped with under-display fingerprint scanning technology. A few 2020 phone designs are expected to feature under-display front cameras. Oppo’s alleged refreshed Find X2 Lamborghini Edition will make use of this emerging tech.
A Galaxy Note 21 lineup with both under display cameras and under display fingerprint will bring us close to limits of standard smartphone design. Where do smartphones go from here?
