Citizen's Kei automatics launch outside Japan with lower price tags and a new limited-edition

Citizen Hong Kong has announced six new models, as reported by Anthony Kable of @plus9time: the white NK0051-51B, black NK0051-51F, grey NK0051-51J, blue NK0051-51M, green NK0051-51W and two-tone NK0055-51Q, the last of these with a white dial, a gold-tone bezel, and crown. Citizen’s European sites already list the same six, with a pink Kei Limited Edition, the NK0051-60Y, alongside them.
The hardware is pretty much unchanged from the Japanese NK0050 series that goes on sale on 5 November. Cases measure 38 mm across and 10.9 mm thick, the crystal is flat sapphire with an anti-reflective coating, and caliber 8310 runs at 21,600 vph with 21 jewels and a 60-hour reserve behind an exhibition back. Water resistance is 5 bar, bracelets are 19 mm on a three-fold push clasp, and both hands and indexes are lumed.
Two main things separate the two sets. Export casebacks show 'Japan Movt' where the Japanese ones read "Made in Japan". @plus9time flags that in his post and one that carries onto the dial. The export range also includes a green dial, which the Japanese line never offered.
The gap widens even more on price. Citizen Spain lists the five steel references at 329 euros and the two-tone at 349 euros, which comes to roughly $304 and $322 once the country’s 21% VAT comes off. The Japanese models are 68,200 yen and 70,400 yen including tax, or about $394 and $407 before Japan’s 10% consumption tax. The export version saves close to 23%.
Citizen has announced no US pricing for either set. The 37 mm Tsuyosa 60, which uses the same caliber, sells for $595 in the United States.
