Built for everyday use: New e-bike features 720 Wh battery, Bosch mid-drive motor, and full suspension

Scott has introduced a new electric bicycle, the E-Ville 20. As the "Ville" branding suggests, the bike targets riders seeking a city-friendly e-bike that can also handle spontaneous off-road tours. To that end, it features full suspension, pairing a front suspension fork with a rear shock. The front fork provides 100 mm of travel—a figure slightly below typical mountain bike specs—while an SR Suntour Raidon-R-TR T serves as the rear shock. The bike also includes a dropper seatpost, another component more commonly found on mountain bikes.
The Scott E-Ville 20 has a claimed weight of 31.3 kg (approx. 69 lbs). Given its aluminum frame, full equipment suite, Bosch Performance Line CX mid-drive motor, and generous 720 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, the substantial heft comes as no surprise. The maximum permissible total weight is rated at 160 kg (~353 lbs). Consequently, a rider weighing 100 kg (~220 lbs) can still fully utilize the integrated rear rack's maximum load capacity of 20 kg (~44 lbs). While the rack lacks lower pannier rails, it comes equipped with a luggage strap.
An integrated lighting system ensures safe and road-legal riding at dusk and night. Gearing is handled by a ten-speed Shimano Cues derailleur setup. However, Scott has omitted even a basic chain guard—a notable drawback for a bike designed for daily commuting. The Scott E-Ville 20 is listed by retailers at €4,599, though it is currently not yet in stock. Scott models are available across numerous international markets.
