Reviews for the Blackview R6

77.3% Blackview R6 Smartphone Review | Notebookcheck
Priced (too) tightly? Blackview's R6 wants to offer a configuration that is usually only found in much more expensive smartphones for just 130 Euros (~$137): Full HD screen, fingerprint sensor, decent camera. Is this possible in view of the tight budget?

The Blackview R6 has a very specific market: folks outside the US who need the cheapest quality phone available. If you’re in the US, the lack of 4G LTE is a real dealbreaker. But if you’re outside the U.S., the R6 offers some really great specs at a low price. It feels and looks higher end than it is — for the most part.

Model:

The Blackview R6 is a dual SIM dual standby smartphone with a slightly high-performance hardware. It features a MTK6737 quad core processor, a Mali-T720 graphic processing unit, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The smartphone also offers storage expansion up to 32 GB via memory card, making it a smartphone capable of running smooth and fast with storage for multiple apps, pictures, songs and videos with ease. As for design, the Blackview R6 features a shining full metal frame, which makes it shining and cool in appearance. The external metal frame uses a high-quality metal with precise CNC shaping technology to ensure that the metal frame is curved at the same angle. On the front, the Blackview R6 has a 5.5-inch Full HD touchscreen display, which is capable of showing gorgeous colors and rich image details. The screen has the popular 2.5D arc screen design which makes the smartphone looking more stylish and appealing. The arc screen design brings a rounded edges design for the smartphone and is comfortable to be held in hand.

The Blackview R6 adopts a 13.0 MP rear camera with f/1.2 big aperture with good light sensitivity and low noise level. It can easily deal with changing scenes to record exciting experiences and moments. The Blackview R6 camera supports intelligent Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology, which can greatly improve the image quality in low-light condition. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology also ensures clear video captures by reducing unstable frames in video mode. Besides Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology, the Blackview R6 also features two-tone LED flash, which contributes a lot to the performance of the camera with improved image quality in terms of brightness. The Blackview R6's 5.0 MP front camera captures clear pictures for both selfies or video calls. Unlocking the screen is also convenient and simple with gesture function where you can use gesture to swipe on the screen to unlock without using unlock button. For better security feature, the Blackview R6 also features touch type fingerprint recognition with a rounded sensor on the back cover. The rounded sensor allows the fingerprint scanner to scan fingers perfectly since fingers are rounded. It is a combination of convenience and safety for securing the smartphone. With a large 3000 mAh battery with high density, the phone offers a long standby time of up to three days. Furthermore, it has power guard technology with strictly controls abnormal power consumption and helps to find the application that uses power extensively. It is an effort to make the Blackview R6 more power-efficient. For wireless connectivity, the Blackview R6 features WiFi 802.11 a/n/b/g and Bluetooth 4.0. Input and output interfaces include two micro SIM card slots, a 3.5 mm audio out port, a micro USB slot and a microSD card slot. It is a good device which features slightly better hardware configuration compared to most mid-range devices but with a similar price.

5.50":

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

Blackview:

This brand from the Blackview International Group was created in Hong Kong in 2013. Smartphones are the focus of marketing.

However, there are only few reviews and the market shares are very low (2016).

68.1%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
