The GMKtec EVO-X2 launched as one of the first mini PCs that features the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. Months after the global launch, this Strix Halo mini PC recently received a cheaper configuration, which has just become a bit more affordable.
GMK has recently won the American Good Design 2025 Platinum Award for it. To celebrate, the company has discounted all the configurations of the GMK EVO-X2. The base model, in particular, is currently sitting below $1,400 when the special discount coupon is applied.
To be precise, the starting config of the Strix Halo mini PC is currently available at $1,394.99 on Amazon when the code 9LYGM2BY is applied. This is a hefty $605 off the listing price, and this discounted price tag will expire on October 26, 2025. GMK also offers discounts on other configurations at its official store through the GMKX2PR code.
It's worth noting that the base configuration comes with 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1 TB Gen4 SSD. While the memory is non-upgradable, the storage can be expanded to up to 16 TB through the two M.2 2280 slots.
Regarding the performance, as we noted in our review, the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 makes the GMK EVO-X2 one of the most powerful mini PCs in the market. In our tests, the Strix Halo APU performed reasonably well, and the triple-fan cooling setup kept the system cool and quiet during heavy loads.
The Radeon 8060S iGPU of the mini PC also delivered impressive performance in our gaming tests. However, the EVO-X2 doesn't offer a whole lot of flexibility in terms of fan speed adjustment. We also didn't like the internal design as it makes maintenance unnecessarily difficult. You can learn more about the system from our in-depth review.
