Asus ramps up Transformer production

Teaser
Company working on increasing tablet production, should be available soon

Although yesterday’s announcement that the Transformer tablet would be receiving an Android 3.1 upgrade was very encouraging, it only works if there are enough tablets around to download it. ASUS’s successful Eee Pad Transformer has been plagued by supply shortages, but fortunately that could all be coming to an end soon.

According to an Engadget article, ASUS has stated that they are hard at work trying to pump out enough tablets to meet demand. When queried about the tablet shortage, the company PR rep stated:

“We are ramping production every week to address the supply concerns, including almost daily air shipments into North America. We expect the supply line to improve significantly over the coming weeks.

Earlier reports stated that ASUS is currently only capable of producing 10,000 tablets per month, but hopefully that problem has been sorted out. We trust ASUS to deliver on their word, but with multiple Honeycomb tablets gearing up to enter the foray, more delays could spell doom for the "transforming" tablet.
