Asus Transformer Prime spotted at FCC

Teaser
Official specs and launch dates still a mystery

With the dedicated teaser page live, reportedly leaked photos out and an official unveiling expected November 9th, the Asus Transformer Prime should be set for a nationwide launch hopefully before the end of the year.

The tablet’s presence at the FCC more or less confirms that the launch is just over the horizon. While the FCC documents available online don’t reveal anything specific about the tablet due to confidentiality and disclosure agreements, it does at least confirm WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities. Whether or not the initial batches of Transformer Prime tablets will be WiFi-only or have some sort of WWAN connectivity remains to be seen.

At launch, the Transformer Prime is expected to be the first consumer-level quad-core tablet available with Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. The 10-inch tablet will succeed the original Eee Pad Transformer, although both have been confirmed to be upgradeable to Android 4.0 sometime in the near future.
