Asus ZenWatch has been around for a few years already, and the third iteration of this affordable Android Wear-powered smartwatch is close to its official launch as well. However, this new smart wearable promises to come with a new design, finally moving away from the square-shaped layout used by its two predecessors.
A smartwatch that appears to be the upcoming Asus ZenWatch 3 has been recently spotted at FCC and the Chinese National Communications Commission. While the FCC only revealed a drawing of its back, the NCC listing arrived with a full set of images that leave no doubt about the round shape of this smartwatch. Since those images were also removed in the meantime, it looks like this is the real thing and they should not have become public yet.
The hardware specs are still unknown at this stage, and the ZenWatch 3 is expected to launch with the latest Google Android Wear version. The images mentioned earlier reveal a metal frame design with three physical buttons on the side and a charger connector on the back of the watch. Asus will hold a press conference at the end of the month, so we will probably see the ZenWatch 3 in September, at IFA.
