Asus ZenFone 3 Laser finally gets Android Nougat
Asus released many ZenFone 3 handsets, and a few of them already received Android 7.0 Nougat. However, although they confirmed the arrival of Nougat for this lineup back in January, there are still a few models that have to be updated. ZenFone 3 Laser is the latest one to get the update, and the new firmware rolls out to these handsets as we speak.
According to Asus, the update version is 20.40.8.58, and these are the main changes it brings:
- FET VoLTE and VoWiFi enabled
- Share Link removed as it does not work properly on Nougat
- redundant app shortcuts removed from all apps menu (Splendid, Flashlight, Audio Wizard, System update)
- Shake Shake removed from ZenMotion
- multiple page support for Quick Settings
- live wallpapers incompatible with Nougat removed
In addition to the above, various tweaks and fixes should also be present, as well as the well-known changes that come when upgrading from Marshmallow to Nougat. Asus says the autopush needs about one week to complete, so those who did not get the update notification yet should wait some more or just go to Settings>About>System Update to check manually.
