Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX481
The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX481 is a 14-inch ultraportable laptop. Designed to give the ultimate edge in workflow efficiency, the unique design features a full-width ASUS ScreenPad Plus, which works seamlessly with the main display. It gives on-the-go computing like users never experienced before. The full-width secondary touchscreen works seamlessly, giving endless ways to optimize and personalize your workflow. The brand new Celestial Blue colour draws its inspiration from the future and gives the ZenBook Duo a sophisticated air of timeless innovation. As befits such a revolutionary concept, it’s also decorated with a unique asymmetric version of the iconic Zen-inspired spun-metal finish: an intriguing design detail that gives the ZenBook Duo a totally unmistakable identity. The ErgoLift hinge providing a 5.5° keyboard tilt does not only give a more comfortable typing experience, but also improves cooling and audio performance. For the very best graphics experience, the ZenBook Pro Duo uses the Nvidia GeForce MX250. With this game-changing GPU, users can enjoy the power of ray-tracing for the ultimate visual realism. As for other hardware specifications, it is powered by an Intel Core i7-9750H with 16 GB DDR3 RAM and 512 MB of NAND flash storage. The Full HD 14-inch on the ZenBook Pro Duo is truly great, with a four-sided frameless design featuring ultraslim bezels. The brilliant OLED touchscreen delivers ultra-vivid colors and deep blacks and cinema-grade 100 % DCI-P3 color gamut, which makes the laptop a superb all-rounder for professional work and entertainment. The DCI-P3 color space widely used in the motion picture industry is increasingly the preferred choice of creative professionals for its increased range of possible colors and makes images on ZenBook Pro Duo look simply stunning. The barely-there bezels increase the screen-to-body ratio to a near-borderless 89 %, giving more screen, and less distraction. To further enhance the audio experience, the ASUS Golden Ear team worked together with the renowned home and automotive audio expert Harman Kardon to ensure the best audio experience. A tailored mix of superior hardware, including smart amplifier technology that delivers louder sound with no distortion and finely tuned software gives sound like no other laptop. The ZenBook Duo features a full set of high-performance I/O ports, giving dongle-free connectivity whatever users are doing, wherever users are. The latest Intel Wi-Fi 6 with Gig+ (802.11ax) takes wireless speeds to the next level, for super smooth connections to the world. As a conclusion, the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX481 is a laptop that is built very well and looks professional. Even though it is not a super affordable device to buy, it is expected to see ScreenPad+ as a feature on more models in the future. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

I love the idea of the ZenBook Duo and I'm excited for the future it represents. But I don't think that future is here yet. There are situations where a dual-screen ZenBook will shine, but I don't think you can take that decision without first trying the laptop yourself and understanding its quirks.

The ZenBook Pro Duo and ZenBook Duo will be making their way to India before the end of this year, possibly in time for the Diwali shopping season. Asus hasn't committed to any pricing for India yet, saying that the specifications and variants might not be the same in all countries.

Some months after the availability of the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo we’ll also see the ASUS Zenbook Duo (UX481). This follows the same overall scheme, but the main display (this one is non-OLED) has a 14 inch diagonal and offers full HD resolution (1,920 by 1,080 pixels) rather than UltraHD. No price has yet been set for this model.

A smaller version of one of ASUS’ best laptop in 2019, the ZenBook Duo is smaller, more portable, and more affordable but it will take you some time to get used to the smaller, more compressed keyboard and trackpad.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is a major Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer based in Taipei, founded in 1989. Under the Asus brand name, the company manufactures a wide range of products, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, smartphones and networking equipment, complete systems and PC components for end users.
Under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand name, ASUS manufactures gaming laptops known by gamers for their powerful specifications, dedicated graphics cards, high refresh rate displays and advanced cooling systems.
Beyond gaming, a wide range of notebooks are offered for different needs and budgets, from ultra-slim and lightweight ultrabooks to versatile 2-in-1 convertibles and budget-friendly options. In 2023, Asus had a 7% global market share of the PC market.
Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce MX250: Successor of the MX150 and still based on the same Pascal GP108 chip (similar to the desktop GT 1030) but with higher clock speeds. Available in two versions, a normal 25 Watt version and a low power version with 10 Watt TDP and reduced performance. The 25 Watt version e.g. offers a 21% higher boost clock than the old MX150 leading to a 5% performance gain.

i7-9750H: A high-performance hexa-core processor of the Coffee Lake product family designed for the larger laptops. Integrates six processor cores clocked at 2.6 - 4.5 GHz (4 GHz with 6 cores) that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++).
Intel Comet Lake:
i7-10510U: Comet Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced on 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 1.8 and 4.9 GHz (all 4 cores 4.3 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (8 threads). The integrated memory controller supports DDR4-2666 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default).

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
