Before we sum up what is right and wrong with this notebook, we have to consider its price tag. It is the only reason we could forgive its flexy, bendy body made entirely out of plastic. Also, we can forgive the soldered memory, but we believe the reason behind it is the processor. That’s because most of the laptops with this family of CPUs actually come with the same soldered LPDDR5 5500MHz RAM. What’s good about it is that it is fast, and you can find options with 4, 8, or 16GB. ASUS Vivobook Go 15 (E1504F)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio. Thankfully, its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. On the other hand, the panel only covers 57% of the sRGB gamut. Our unit is equipped with the smaller 42Wh battery. Regardless, it lasted for 8 hours and 30 minutes of Web browsing, or more than 9 hours of video playback. On top of that, the laptop is pretty fast for daily use, which is great. Despite the flimsy chassis, the keyboard is rather comfortable to use.

At around £500, the Asus Vivobook Go 15 OLED is a simple device on paper. With a stunning screen that offsets its relatively low workflow performance expectations with great battery life, there’s decent portable entertainment value for the right person or family.

78.75%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
