In conclusion, the ASUS Vivobook Ultra A512 offers plenty of features in a slim and thin package that should suit most desktop replacement purposes like a student or professional (perhaps an accountant who likes fingerprint security and a built-in numeric keypad?). That being said, it isn’t really that premium, not suited for road warriors due to the short battery life or for the more hardcore gamers.

Let’s not forget that the ASUS VivoBook Ultra A512 also comes with 4 distinct yet vibrant colors. It comes in my favorite Coral Crush, the sleek Peacock Blue, Slate Grey, and the very reflective Transparent Silver. The HP Pavilion 15-cs2010TX comes with only one color – silver.

As it stands, the Asus VivoBook Ultra A512 fulfills its aspirations of being an affordable workhorse notebook and features an excellent display and a decent processor though this is tempered by the need for more RAM, a plasticky chassis and middling battery life. If you are on the hunt for an affordable workhorse notebook that costs less than RM3,000 and can live with its modest foibles, the VivoBook Ultra A512 is right up your alley.

The Asus Vivobook 15 OLED is overall a good laptop for students and professionals. It has a vibrant panel, smooth day-to-day performance, and even comes with added features like a privacy shutter and fingerprint scanner. To put it simply, if your workload is light to moderate and you don’t want to game, this is the Asus laptop to consider for Rs 74,990. However, if gaming is what you want or want to do graphical tasks like video editing, then you can look for a laptop with a dedicated GPU. But mostly, you’d miss out on an OLED panel and lose out in the weight department since most laptops with a dedicated GPU are closer to 2 KGs.

Under the Asus brand name, the company manufactures a wide range of products, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, smartphones and networking equipment, complete systems and PC components for end users.
Under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand name, ASUS manufactures gaming laptops known by gamers for their powerful specifications, dedicated graphics cards, high refresh rate displays and advanced cooling systems.
Beyond gaming, a wide range of notebooks are offered for different needs and budgets, from ultra-slim and lightweight ultrabooks to versatile 2-in-1 convertibles and budget-friendly options. In 2023, Asus had a 7% global market share of the PC market.
Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce MX250: Successor of the MX150 and still based on the same Pascal GP108 chip (similar to the desktop GT 1030) but with higher clock speeds. Available in two versions, a normal 25 Watt version and a low power version with 10 Watt TDP and reduced performance. The 25 Watt version e.g. offers a 21% higher boost clock than the old MX150 leading to a 5% performance gain.
Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.
Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G7 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 80 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.

Intel Core i5:
i5-8265U: Whiskey Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.9 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.
Intel Core i3:
i3-8145U: Whiskey Lake based low power dual-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The two cores are clocked between 2.1 and 3.9 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.
Intel Comet Lake:
i5-10210U: Comet Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 1.6 and 4.2 GHz (all 4 cores 3.9 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (8 threads). The integrated memory controller supports LPDDR4-2933 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default). Compared to the faster i5-10510U, the level 3 cache was reduced from 8 to 6 MB.
Intel Raptor Lake-H:
i5-13500H: On Alder-Lake based mobile CPU with 4 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The performance cores offer hyper threading, leading to 16 threads that can be processed. The CPU clocks up to 4.7 GHz and supports vPro.
