Powerful and Slim. The Asus GL502VM is a slim, 15.6-inch gaming laptop which can run games smoothly on its matte, FHD screen. The hardware needs a lot of cooling, so the laptop can become noisy.

Archive.org versionWell, what can I say. The GL502VM is generally a good machine with the basic parts in place – 3D performance and keyboard. It also relatively smaller and more lightweight and the cooling system’s noise levels are relatively low no matter what. However, it has some noticeable downsides. The thermal performance is not as good as other machines with CPU/GPU reaching higher-then-90C degrees under very high load, connection ports selection is very limited, build quality is not that great for such a price compared to the others and most importantly, you can’t change the keyboard’s color to purple or green. It doesn’t have a Thunderbolt 3 port either.

Archive.org versionASUS GL502 can stand proud before gamers in almost every aspect that matters – in addition to the awesome appearance, the notebook has pretty powerful hardware in a thin and light form factor. The latter definitely doesn’t make the model fragile, on the contrary – the metal lid protects the screen from random impacts and prevents potential problems when relatively heavy objects are placed on top of the laptop. Good news for the die hard gamers – the notebook keeps stable frame rates even after hours of gaming (although with relatively high surface temperatures). Upgrades are an easy task and the IPS screen screen has great potential which is fulfilled when used with our custom profiles. The Samsung SM951 M.2 NVMe SSD is blazing fast, but keep in mind that there are configurations with LiteOn CV1 on the market and the latter is much, much slower.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile: The mobile GTX 1060 is based on the GP106 chip and offer 1280 shaders. Compared to the identically named desktop version it features a slightly lower clock rate. Games in Full HD and maximum details should run fluently on the card.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM).
