In conclusion, you get a 17-inch gaming machine that is surprisingly portable for its monstrous hardware, which shows amazing gaming performance without a big toll on noise levels. It also provides good comfort thanks to the gamer-centric keyboard. The super-powerful CPU and the high-quality display make G17 suitable not just for gaming but also for content creating and other heavy tasks. But could you resist the temptation of not playing all day long?

An ideal setup for the target audience, but tailoring for a particular use-case does introduce limitations elsewhere. Those wanting a laptop that doubles for creativity may lament the option of a higher-resolution display with greater colour coverage, the absence of a webcam or biometric security is another potential downside, and as with most Asus gaming laptops, there's some bloatware to contend with.

While the display is confusing there is no denying that the ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713QR is a great gaming notebook and if you’re really itching to get your hands on next-gen graphics, we’re comfortable recommending this notebook as an avenue to reach that.

The 2021 ASUS ROG Strix G17 drops some of the fancy materials and features available with the higher-tier Scar 17 lineup, but doesn't compromise on the performance, screen, IO, or inputs, and sells for significantly less. Thus, I'd expect this to be on many of your maps, as one of the better-value A-brand performance 17-inch laptops in the first part of 2021. It's not without its quirks, though, so make sure you understand them before getting one of these.

Another day has passed, and another RTX 3070 machine has gone through our office. This time, it was the most potent of them all – the 130W version. As a matter of fact, it might be the most powerful mobile GPU, before the RTX 3080 arrives. We saw a similar, and slightly better performance than the RTX 2080 Super, but at 20W lower TGP. Interestingly, the latter is still better when it comes to the Heaven 4 and 3DMark Fire Strike benchmarks. Also, we noticed that on lower details, the RTX 2080 Super paired with a Core i9-10980HK managed to pull ahead. This means only one thing – the mobile Ryzen 5000 chips are not yet ready to be crowned gaming kings.
