Reviews for the Asus PL80J
Source: Good Gear Guide
Archive.org versionAll up, the PL80J is a light, nice-looking notebook with good build quality and plenty of features. Security features, such as the fingerprint reader, make it a decent choice for business users in addition to home users. We're not fans of the Optimus technology in this notebook though: we don't think the NVIDIA graphics adapter provides enough of a performance boost compared to the integrated Intel graphics.

NVIDIA GeForce 310M: The GeForce 310M is the successor of the GeFore G210M and based on the same chip with very similar clock rates (shader speed +30MHz to 1530MHz).
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

520UM:
The Core i5-520UM is a power efficient ultra low voltage processor for laptops. Using Turbo Boost it can be clocked with up to 1.86 GHz. Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (Intel HD Graphics with 166-500 MHz) and a DDR3-800 memory controller are also included in the package. Compared to the Core i7-620UM, the 520UM offers less Level 3 Cache and a slower Turbo Boost clock rate.
