Apple iPad Pro specs leaked

Apple is working on a larger iPad to take on the Microsoft Surface Pro range. Leaked sketches and specifications tell us more about the "iPad Pro."

For months, there have been reports that Apple has been working on a Surface Pro competitor. This device has been called the iPad Pro, which is supposedly a larger iPad with more powerful components, and even possibly a stylus and a detachable keyboard added to the package.

A couple of sketches of the upcoming iPad Pro were leaked onto the internet yesterday. According the same, the Apple iPad Pro will feature a 12.2-inch LCD display. As expected, the larger iPad will also be powered by a faster Apple A9 processor. It seems that Apple wants the iPad Pro to serve as a multimedia powerhouse, as the sketches indicate towards 4 inbuilt speakers. Lastly, it talks about the dimensions of the iPad Pro - 305.32x220.8x7 mm - which would make Apple's big tablet a full 2mm thinner than the new Surface Pro 3.

The latest reports also suggest that the iPad Pro, or the iPad Air Plus, as few publications are calling it, will arrive between April-June 2015, i.e. Q2 next year. Competitors from the Android landscape are few in number. There's the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 from Samsung, but nothing much else.
