Apple's iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are both really popular handsets and have been on the market for only a few months, but it seems the next generation will arrive pretty soon if the latest rumors prove to be true. According to these predictions, a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 version will be released in June, while the large 5.7-inch handset that will compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 will arrive later, right before the start of this year's holiday season.
Chinese analyst Sun Chyang Xu expects trial production of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 to start in May. The first batch will consist of 2 million to 3 million units and the handset's display will have the same resolution as the 4-inch models currently on the market - 640X1,136 pixels. This contradicts a recent report that mentioned a resolution of 720X1,280 pixels for the upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone.
The larger iPhone 6 will be unveiled together with the 4.7-inch model at WWDC in June, but will be available for purchase much later, most likely at the end of the year. While this handset will offer a resolution of 1,080X1,920 pixels, both models are expected to feature a back camera with 8 MP, OIS and f/1.8 aperture for improved performance in low-light conditions.
Unfortunately, the analyst did not confirm rumors regarding a curved display iPhone 6, so it is possible to see Apple using such a technology starting with iPhone 7.
