Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy S5 coming in December
Google recently unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop and "pure" smartphones, tablets and phablets should get their updates starting in the next few weeks. SamMobile already previewed an early Android 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship, and now they revealed new info about this topic.
According to inside sources quoted by SamMobile, "the Android 5.0 update will go live for the Galaxy S5 in December." Unfortunately, no accurate time frame has been given as the precise roll out date for the "pure" Android 5.0 Lollipop from Google is not known yet, either. Samsung also has to change the default Android interface and update its own TouchWiz UI to match Lollipop's interface changes, such as lock screen modifications.
Android 5.0 Lollipop promises enhanced performance, file sharing via Android Beam (a feature already present on Samsung devices), multi-user capability on smartphones and phablets, all touched by the new Material Design visual design language. We will surely get back to Lollipop soon as other manufacturers already started announcing the lists of devices that will get updated first.
