These two new handsets target the mid-range (E3) and entry-level (Z4) markets and both will be available in April, loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Earlier this week, Acer announced the Liquid E3 and Z4 Android smartphones that will debut at MWC in Barcelona. While the main specs of these two handsets have been unveiled already in a press release each, all the remaining details will probably be revealed next week.

The Acer Liquid E3 will hit the European market in April starting with the United Kingdom, where Three already announced it will carry the device which has a price of 199 EUR (roughly 274 USD). These are its main specs:

  • Processor: quad-core 1.2 GHz (unspecified brand and model)
  • Memory/Storage: 1 GB RAM; 4 GB internal storage 
  • Display: 4.7 inch HD IPS  
  • Cameras: 2 MP front, 13 MP rear
  • Connectivity: WiFi, GPS
  • Operating system: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (KitKat update confirmed but date still unknown)

The low-end Liquid Z4 has a recommended price of 99 EUR (about 136 USD) and the following specs:

  • Processor: dual-core 1.3 GHz (unspecified brand and model)
  • Memory/Storage: unknown amount of RAM; 4 GB internal storage 
  • Display: 4 inch TFT of unspecified resolution
  • Cameras: no front camera, 5 MP rear
  • Connectivity: WiFi, GPS
  • Operating system: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Both smartphones come loaded with Acer's own launcher, which offers four custom modes: Basic, Easy, Classic, and Keypad. Unfortunately, there is no information on pricing and availability in the US yet but this may change in just a few days.
