Acer confirms the announcement date for its Intel Lunar Lake laptops

Last month, Intel confirmed that it will launch the new Core Ultra 200 series chips on September 3rd. Acer has now announced that it will hold its Next@Acer event on September 4th, suggesting that the company will be among the first to introduce Lunar Lake laptops.

Of course, the Next@Acer event isn't all about PCs. For example, last year, about 90% of the announcements were about laptops. The rest covered a wide range of technologies, smart devices, and more. One thing to note here is that this event and the Intel Lunar Lake launch event will take place at IFA 2024, a major tech event that's set to take place in Berlin, Germany.

Moreover, given that Intel's launch event will take place a day before, Acer should be able to fully showcase what its laptops with Lunar Lake processors bring to the table. While the company hasn't shared any details on what to expect, the main theme appears to be "Human Intelligence."

That basically suggests that most of the showcase could be about the new AI features brought by the Copilot+ PC program. Speaking of which, the upcoming Intel Core Ultra 200 series is said to deliver more than 100 platform TOPS, with the NPU delivering over 40 TOPS.

While that would make the Intel Lunar Lake chips meet the minimum requirement of the Copilot+ PC program, it's not yet clear whether the laptops will have the AI-powered features Microsoft announced for the program. The AMD Strix Point laptops, launched last month, are yet to get them. So, it's yet to be seen whether the laptops with Core Ultra 200 series processors will have them at launch.
