Something new in Acer's ultra-portable lineup. The Swift 3 series gets a new 15.6-inch model. The Swift 1 is now available with a new aluminum unibody case and wants to convince customers with a weight of just 1300 grams and a battery runtime of up to 10 hours.

Besides the 14-inch Acer Swift 3, we will also get a new larger 15.6-inch model. Both laptops are equipped with a Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) IPS display as well as Intel Core processors. Some SKUs will be shipped with optional Nvidia GPUs. The other specs include PCIe SSDs with a capacity of up to 512 GB, and the 15-inch model also gets an additional 1 TB HDD. Both notebooks will ship with up to 8 GB RAM, 802.11ac Wi-Fi (2x2) as well as a USB 3.1 Type-C port.

The Acer Swift 1 is the entry-level model for the ultra-slim series at just 15 mm and a weight of 1300 grams. The core components are Intel Celeron or Pentium processors, either with eMMC or SSD storage (up to 256 GB). The display of the Swift 1 is a 13.3-inch Full HD panel based on the IPS technology.

Both devices should arrive in June with starting prices of USD $329 for the Swift 1 and USD $599 for the Swift 3.

I grew up with computers and modern consumer electronics. I am interested in the technology since I had my first computer, a Commodore C64, and started building my own PCs after that. My focus here at Notebookcheck is the business segment including mobile workstations, but I also like to test new mobile devices. It is always a great experience to review and compare new products. My free time is filled with a lot of sports, in the summer mainly on my bike.
