Amazon is about to hold its first Prime Day sale, set to start on June 23, 2026. While this event is a few days away, a handful of products have already been discounted, and the discount placed on the GMKtec K16 is among the highlights.
This AMD mini PC with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD is enjoying a 36% price cut, making it drop from $999.99 to $639.98. Per a third-party price tracker, Camelcamelcamel, this is the all-time low price, and Amazon's built-in tracker suggests the same.
Released in January 2026, the GMKtec K16 mini PC features the AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, a relatively dated processor from the AMD Rembrandt lineup. However, per our benchmarks, it's on the same league as the newly released Ryzen AI 7 445, a lower-end option from the Gorgon Point series.
It also features the Radeon 680M, a relatively capable RDNA 2 iGPU that can handle most games with visual settings set to low, resolution at 720p, and scaling enabled. One good part about the mini PC is that it has an OCuLink port, allowing users to pair a performance-focused eGPU for much better performance on GPU-intensive tasks.
No NPU, high power consumption, and poor port configuration are the downsides of the GMKtec K16
As we highlighted in our review, the lack of NPU can be a big downside for some users. This means that the GMKtec K16 won't be capable of running many local AI features like the ones available on Co-Pilot+.
The power consumption of the mini PC is comparatively high as well, which stems from the relatively inefficient AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS APU. Moreover, the port configuration of the GMK K16 only has one USB-C port, but thankfully, it's a USB4 port. You can learn more about the system from our in-depth review.
